In the main thermal bath of San Casciano dei Bagni (Siena), 24 bronzes came to light after two thousand years.
The Sacred Bath of Bagno Grande (dated between II b.C and I a.C) is the biggest thermal sanctuary of the ancient Etruscan-Roman era. Its extraodinary peculiarity is that many statues have inscriptions, ad dedications to divinities, in both languages; Etruscan and Latin.
According to these founds we can rewrite the dialectic and the relations between Etruscan and Romans.
After a careful restoration, the precious statues will be exposed at the Scuderie del Quirinale museum of Rome. |
